The new Acura MDX seems to be pretty decent despite looking like the old one with new headlights. I'm still peeved that the 2014 Grand Cherokee wasn't picked, and that the Range Rover Sport and 2014 Durango didn't fare better.

Did you add the '/Crossover', or did they finally admit defeat?

I added it, though I may as well remove it.

I'm quite pleased with the results, but, I may be a bit biased.

I kind of thought so. You did the right thing.
I still wonder how they pick the best SUV from a literal field of CUVs (Rover & Jeep get a pass IMHO though).

I'd take the Durango or the Jeep...

It's better than other comparisons, like the one from a year or two back that had the BMW X5 as a contender for Truck of the Year (it wasn't a Motor Trend comparo, but I do remember Jalopnik making a big deal out of it).

The Range Rover wins for actually being an SUV.

Should of been the Grand Cherokee.

I'm shocked that they ousted the Durango when they had nothing but praise for it. It didn't make the top 3 because....???
And the GC should've been the winner, they fawned and fawned over the GC and how many options and how it was actually tailored to be the best all around SUV then complained when they said it was "over-engineered". Personally I'd rather have something "over-engineered" than something that looks like it came out of the late 90s-early 00s.

I was going to ask, exactly what are we calling an SUV these days, and how are we defining it. I have lost track as it keeps changing. Maybe we need a new catagory where they actually have a dual range transfer case.

They mentioned some QC issue with a window in the Durango's 3rd row, and they seemed to like everything about the MDX (i.e. the SH-AWD and ride) aside from the lackluster infotainment system and looks that didn't blow anyone's mind. I don't think that's enough to rank it above the Durango, though.
I'm not quite sure how the "over-engineered" comments made the Grand Cherokee lose out as well. I get that they didn't like the EcoDiesel engine's clatter, but I'm baffled as to how having a range that spans from off-road-capable to sporty won favor with some judges and didn't work for others. On top of that, they were complaining about not being able to make any further judgements about the Audi Q5 because they only had the SQ5 to work with.

Baffling isn't it? I was amazed at how quickly they dismissed the Q5 even tho they all loved it.
I forgot about the window defect.
And with the Subaru...it seemed ok as an off-roader but not near as capable as well as not being able to tow like the GC. Still at a complete loss to me.

I would say it's a luxury car designed to go off-road. So the RR and Jeep count, but the rest are really crossovers for families and stuff.

Only worth while trucks there where the GC or RR sport (and maybe Durango and Forester). Just shows how irrelevant MT has become. I fucking can't stand them.

Absolutely.
Happy they picked Tesla last year. But otherwise skip their websites/videos.
Except Pobst, they're all very annoying, with Lieberman the worst offender.
